Student Consumer Rights and Responsibilities

Section 493.A of the Higher Education Act requires all postsecondary institutions to provide clear and accurate information about available student financial aid programs. Students are encouraged to visit www.howardcc.edu/financialaid to review important details about their rights and responsibilities related to financial aid.

Students are required to report any changes to their financial circumstances, address, or enrollment status to Financial Aid Services. If a significant change in family or personal circumstances occurs, students may request a review of their financial aid offer.

Students also have the right to access and review their financial aid records. These records can be viewed during Financial Aid Services’ walk-in counseling hours.
