Financial Aid Enrollment Status and Eligibility

Financial aid eligibility and award amounts are based on a student’s enrollment status as of the census date for each term. Only aid-eligible credits are included in this enrollment status. Please review the following guidelines:

  • Program Requirements: Only courses that are required for a student’s declared area of study—including program-required electives—are considered aid-eligible and count toward financial aid enrollment status.

  • Prerequisite Courses: Prerequisite courses are only aid-eligible if they are also required components of the student’s area of study.

  • Developmental and Support Coursework: Up to 30 attempted credits of required developmental and support coursework may be included in the financial aid enrollment status.

  • Repeated Courses: A previously passed course may be repeated once and still count toward aid eligibility. Additional repeats of the same passed course are not aid-eligible.

  • Ineligible Courses: Courses that are dropped, never attended (assigned an “NA” grade), or where the student stops attending prior to the term census date are not considered aid-eligible and will not count toward the financial aid enrollment status.
