Repeating Coursework

Federal financial aid programs will only cover one repeat of a previously passed course. For financial aid purposes, a passing grade is defined as a "D" or higher.

For example, if a student earns a grade of “D” in a course, that attempt counts toward their enrollment status for financial aid. If the student retakes the course once, the second attempt will also count toward their enrollment status. However, if the student enrolls in the course a third time, it will not be included in their enrollment status for financial aid purposes, regardless of the grade received during the second attempt.
