NUR 350 Adult Health Nursing I

Prerequisites: NUR 301 and NUR 351 with a C or better
Corequisites: NUR 352 and NUR 355

This is the first of two adult health nursing courses focused on the care of acutely ill adults and older adults. Using physiological body systems as the framework, students will apply clinical reasoning to provide person-centered, evidence-based, and equitable care. Emphasis is placed on health alterations commonly experienced in adulthood and aging, prioritization of care, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Students engage in simulation, clinical experiences, and guided reflection that support the development of clinical judgment, professional identity, interprofessional communication, safety, and quality improvement. Guided by the AACN Essentials (2021), students integrate standards and competencies into their nursing practice. This course has five didactic hours per week and 84 clinical hours per term.
