MATH 032 Learning Support for Topics in Mathematical Literacy

This is a corequisite course designed to be taken at the same time as MATH 132 Topics in Mathematical Literacy. It focuses on the skills and concepts that support student success in MATH 132. Topics include scientific notation, rules of exponents, and interpretations of graphs and word problems.

A graduate should be able to

  1. Evaluate expressions with positive and negative exponents and apply rules of exponents to univariate and multivariate terms.
  2. Interpret graphs and determine the domain and range of continuous functions.
  3. Express numbers in scientific notation and convert between scientific and standard notations.
  4. Examine word problems to extract and apply relevant information.
