HUMN 108 Introduction to the Creative Arts
Previously FINE 103. Through experiential learning, invention, and direct encounters with the arts, students engage in an interdisciplinary study of form, meaning, and humanistic expression in four major areas: dance, music, theatre, and the visual arts. Students learn to identify, interpret, apply, analyze, and communicate about the basic elements, principles, processes, materials, and inherent artistic qualities of these art forms. As a requirement for all students pursuing the AAT Elementary Education degree, this course design supports students planning to work with elementary-age children as teachers, caregivers, and in other aspects of child development.
