PTAP 260 Orthopedic Dysfunctions II
This course presents principles and concepts related to the treatment of patients following common orthopedic surgical interventions. Post-operative protocols, tissue healing, and potential complications will be discussed in the context of implications for physical therapy interventions.

Course Objectives
- 1. Demonstrate effective subjective and objective data collection for common post-operative conditions in the orthopedic patient.
- 2. Describe common surgical and post-operative clinical interventions for orthopedic conditions.
- 3. Integrate the principles of tissue healing into appropriate physical therapy interventions for a post-operative patient.
- 4. Apply "best practice" treatment protocols for post-operative orthopedic conditions.
- 5. Apply range of motion, stretching, joint mobilization, and soft-tissue interventions appropriate for the post-operative orthopedic patient using safe and effective techniques.
