FIRE 214 Fire Officer IV
This course will cover leadership, community relations, government relations, human resource management, employee/management relations, long-range planning, training, disaster planning, and risk management. There will be group interactive exercises, which will reinforce class lectures.

- 1. Describe how to plan and monitor group projects.
- 2. Explain how to plan and evaluate community services needs.
- 3. Summarize how to analyze process activity performance and use simulations to determine
means to correct any problems. - 4. Explain how to provide ethical leadership and its relationship to conducting risk
management. - 5. Demonstrate an understanding of how to manage training, grievance, member assistance,
and member incentive programs. - 6. Describe how to develop emergency operations and major incident action plans.
