TVRD-141 Audio Production
This course focuses on the theory and practice of audio production and the basic skills required to record, edit, and mix multiple tracks. The emphasis will be on producing short audio programs using microphones, field and studio recording equipment, mixers, and digital editing software. Projects, discussions, and critiques will develop critical listening skills and artistic expression in the audio production environment.

- 1. Demonstrate ability to critically listen to both recorded audio and environmental sound.
- 2. Exhibit confidence and familiarity in a recording studio environment.
- 3. Comprehend basic audio terminology and concepts.
- 4. Demonstrate appropriate microphone selection, use, and placement.
- 5. Record and edit single and multiple audio tracks.
- 6. Understand and demonstrate proficiency with Digidesign Pro Tools for digital audio recording and editing.
- 7. Demonstrate creative and functional applications of sound and audio technologies in conjunction with or without visual media.
