MUSC-229 Audio Techniques II
A continuation of Audio Techniques I, this course explores audio recording using advanced mixing and audio processing, as well as advanced aspects of the digital and audio workstation. Students will utilize the tools and techniques of audio recording through exercises and projects in order to build experience and self confidence. All projects will be discussed in class in a supportive environment. Students are encouraged to make their final projects ambitious and collaborative with other students and programs.

- 1. Demonstrate knowledge of recording and mixing multi-track audio on a digital audio workstation.
- 2. Demonstrate knowledge of audio processing and use of sound effects.
- 3. Share documented experimentation with recording technology and techniques.
- 4. Utilize personal connections made in the audio industry.
- 5. Discuss advanced topics using vocabulary and concepts from the audio recording field.
- 6. Judge the relevance of the application of specific technologies to audio recording and presentation.
- 7. Discuss recording projects with fellow students or employers.
- 8. Share individual home studio plans and concert preparation plans.
- 9. Learn new audio systems quickly and confidently.
- 10. Utilize project work from the class as the beginning of a professional portfolio.
