MUSC-112M Applied Music for Pre-Music Majors
This course is a preparatory course for students who wish to major in Music but cannot yet perform required instrumental/vocal repertoire for
MUSC-117. Students enrolled in this course are required to take a jury at the end of semester, fulfill concert attendance and production support requirements, and register for
MUSC-112L at the same time.

Course Objectives
- 1. Perform repertoire at the appropriate level for the respective instrument or voice as preparation to the approach required for college-level study.
- 2. Perform a mandatory jury examination for the instructor and a panel of music instructors in which the following is demonstrated at the appropriate level: excellent tone, phrasing, rhythm, stylistic understanding, intonation, and musical sensitivity.
- 3. Demonstrate an intermediate level of technical proficiency in the performance of scales, etudes, or other exercises as outlined in the Music Student Handbook.
