DHYG-150 Dental Hygiene Theory and Clinic II

This course emphasizes advanced instrumentation technique and supportive dental hygiene therapy. Students will enhance and refine instrumentation techniques to a competent level. This course will provide instruction on the removal of hard and soft deposits, patient assessment, treatment planning, dental hygiene diagnosis, monitoring of nitrous oxide, and oxygen sedation. Students will be treating patients under general supervision.

Prerequisite: Admission to the Dental Hygiene program and DHYG-100, DHYG-102, DHYG-104, DHYG-106, and DHYG-111. Corequisites: DHYG-208, DHYG-209, BIOL-106, and NUTR-211.
