ASTR-901 Introduction to the Solar System

This course is designed to expand the student's knowledge of our solar system and provide an update of the latest data gathered by recent planetary probes. Topics covered include the planets and their origin, the moon, solar system visitors (comets, meteors, asteroids), characteristics of each planet and their satellites and the possibility of life in the solar system. Some time will be spent with telescope observations of the visible planets.
