New Student Orientation Programs
New Student Orientation programs (composed of both New Student Orientation (online) and Dragon Days) prepare students for the critical first year of college. By providing important information about academic policies and procedures, college services, and student activities, these programs help students avoid potential obstacles to the achievement of their goals while enhancing the enjoyment of campus life.

New Student Orientation (online) can be found at howardcc.edu/nso and is required for all incoming students. Topics covered include: campus technology, financial aid, student support resources, and much more. Dragon Days are an in-person supplement to New Student Orientation and is provided as an option for students to partake in prior to Fall and Spring semesters. Here students have the opportunity to meet college faculty and staff, engage with fellow students, and get a feel of the campus atmosphere and its resources.

In addition to the general HCC New Student Orientation, some programs/cohorts may require separate pre-semester sessions that do not provide the same information. Further information about New Student Orientation programs can be provided to students as part of the enrollment process and through the office of Student Life.
