HUMN 101 Introduction to the Humanities

This introductory course in the humanities develops knowledge, creative and critical thinking skills, and diverse perspectives in the exploration of human expression and our search for meaning.​

Course Objectives

  1. Identify and organize information and humanistic ideas related to various genres of the arts.
  2. Generate and address ideas about the diverse human experience through time as expressed in the arts.
  3. Critically analyze and consider connections among works of visual art, performance art, and/or literature.
  4. Create and reflect upon expressions of contemporary human experience and the search for meaning in relation to other time periods and contexts.
