CMSY 256 Linux Server Administration
This course provides the core foundation for supporting Linux. Students will perform system administration tasks, and install and configure a Linux workstation to an existing network. This course will cover preparation for CompTIA Linux+ certification.

Course Objectives
- Install Linux.
- Use RPM and YUM to maintain software and system updates.
- Add and remove software.
- Understand superuser privileges.
- Create users and groups.
- Configure a Linux kernel.
- Understand disk partitions.
- Create and maintain a Linux file system.
- Understand a TCP/IP network.
- Setup system security and IPTABLES firewall.
- Setup and configure services and daemons.
- Configure NFS and SMB/Samba for file sharing.
- Integrate Linux with an existing network.
