RADT 246 Advanced Imaging Modalities, Image Analysis, and Pathology
This course consists of three major sections: Advanced Imaging Modalities, Radiographic Image Analysis, and Radiographic Pathology. Contents of the Advanced Imaging Modalities section include introduction to the principles of computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, DEXA, mammography, interventional radiography, and cross-sectional anatomy. Contents of the Radiographic Pathology section are designed to help students develop the skills necessary to distinguish normal and abnormal anatomic structures on a radiographic image, characterize disease processes, and discuss prognoses of pathologic conditions. The role of various imaging modalities in the diagnosis and treatment process is discussed. The Image Analysis section will prepare students to perform radiographic image critique using established guidelines.
