EMSP 253 Paramedic Licensure Examination Preparation
In this course, students will prepare for the National Registry of EMTs Paramedic Licensure Examination (called the 'NRP' examination). The course is divided into two components, outside of class time preparation for the computer based multiple choice evaluation and classroom based preparation for the psychomotor evaluation. During class time, students will practice the NRP psychomotor examination stations under the supervision of EMS program faculty. Outside of class, students will complete a series for online multiple choice examinations which simulates the type of testing that occurs during the NRP examination process. Corrective feedback will be provided for both the written and practical evaluations. The students will also be provided a comprehensive written and practical evaluation of similar type to the NRP evaluations. Students must successfully complete both the practical and written examination (termed 'mock' examinations) in order to complete this course. Students must successfully complete this course and be eligible to receive the appropriate EMS program certificate or degree to be eligible for NRP testing.
