PSYC-200 Lifespan Development
Through this course, students will develop an understanding of the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of individuals from infancy to very old age. Within the bio-psychosocial framework, students will be able to research and apply developmental concepts to relevant problems in daily life.

Course Objectives
- 1. Apply the scientific method critically by assessing the advantages and disadvantages of the
various methods of developmental research. - 2. Identify, compare, and contrast issues or problems within the major theories of lifespan
development. - 3. Analyze and evaluate the biological, psychological, and social perspectives and the
interaction between these three perspectives using supportive data and evidence. - 4. Apply one’s own experience to the perspectives of bio-psychosocial theory using hypothetical
issues or problems. - 5. Compare and contrast bio-psychosocial and cultural influences across the lifespan.
