ENGL-084 Academic Intermediate Writing and Grammar for ESL Students
In ENGL 084, students will acquire the English language skills needed to produce paragraphs at an intermediate proficiency level. A variety of reading selections and discussion activities will serve to prepare students to compose narrative, descriptive and expository paragraphs that reflect critical analysis. Writing themes will help students to develop a global awareness. Paragraph development will progress to the production of an organized essay by the end of the semester. Grammatical skills will be developed through formal instruction, group editing and computer-assisted instruction. This course will meet for four hours per week.

Appropriate score on English placement tests.
