Frederick Community College Degree
The surgical technology area of study is designed for students who wish not only to fulfill the certification requirements to be able to apply to sit for the national certification examination in surgical technology but also desire to build on this significant achievement by adding general education courses to satisfy the requirements of the A.A.S. degree. The student may plan to apply these additional skills in seeking employment in a more diversified role or transfer to a four-year college program that has a medical or business emphasis. This area of study is offered to Howard Community College students through the Mid-Maryland Allied Healthcare Education Consortium. Students will typically complete most of the general education core at Howard and then matriculate to Frederick Community College to complete the Surgical Technology courses.
