RADT 123 Imaging Equipment and Modalities

This course introduces X-ray physics, circuitry, and various types of radiographic equipment. Concepts of X-ray production, interaction of X-rays with matter, beam characteristics, image intensification and radiographic accessories. A review of image quality and the evaluation of radiographic equipment and accessories is emphasized. Content is designed to establish a knowledge base in radiographic, fluoroscopic, mobile, and tomographic equipment and design. The course will also provide a basic knowledge of quality control.
