RADT 106 Introduction to Radiography and Patient Care
This course consists of three major sections: Introduction to Patient Care, Introduction to Image Production, and Introduction to Radiographic Procedures/Positioning. Introduction to Patient Care is an overview of the role of effective communication, infection control, patient transfer, patient safety, career opportunities, scope of practice, and medical and legal ethics in diagnostic imaging. In Introduction to Image Production, students will be introduced to the fundamental concepts radiographic image production, setting manual and AEC techniques, and basic radiation protection. In Introduction to Radiographic Procedures/Positioning, students will be introduced to the basic radiographic procedures and patient positioning of the chest and upper extremities.
