MATH 063 Introduction to Elementary Algebra

This course covers the topics in the middle units in the elementary algebra sequence. Topics include solving and graphing linear inequalities on a number line; determining and graphing linear equations; and solving literal equations for a specified variable. Students will apply the Pythagorean Theorem, distance formula, and midpoint formula, and develop skills in solving systems of equations graphically and algebraically. Linear equations will be used to develop an understanding of function notation. All sections require the use of the interactive computer program that comes with the software code. Use of a calculator is limited to a four-function calculator.
