EMSP 248 Special Needs Patients

Students will be able to integrate anatomy, physiology, developmental considerations, and pathophysiological principles and assessment findings to formulate a field impression and implement the treatment plan for neonatal, newborn, pediatric, toddler, school-aged, adolescent, and obstetrical, gynecological, and geriatric patients. In addition, patients who are physically or mentally challenged, chronically ill patients, and patients with common complaints will be examined for their unique special needs. Students must maintain licensure as a Nationally Registered EMT-I99 (Maryland CRT 99) for the duration of the course and during Paramedic testing.
