MLTS 252 Hematology Clinical Practice

Hematology Clinical Practice consists of an internship at a sponsoring hematology laboratory clinical site. Supervised activities in areas of blood and body fluid clinical analysis are meant to enhance the student's medical laboratory knowledge base with emphasis on professionalism, safety, problem-solving, quality assurance, and instrument maintenance.

  1. 1. Perform laboratory procedures in compliance with protocols utilized in a clinical hematology
    laboratory.
  2. 2. Compare and interpret normal versus abnormal results.
  3. 3. Evaluate the need for follow-up testing when abnormal results are encountered.
  4. 4. Demonstrate compliance with professional and safety protocols.
  5. 5. Evaluate pre- and post-analytical processes encountered in the clinical laboratory.
