The general studies area of study is intended for students who are uncertain of their career plans or desire two years of a broad, general college education. This curriculum has been adapted to allow students to explore several different subject areas. The General Studies – Business/Technology Emphasis transfer pattern has been designed specifically for students whose interests are more in the area of business and/or technology than in the liberal arts. Those who plan their course sequences with faculty advisors may prepare for either transfer or employment. Students are advised to check the requirements of the institution to which they intend to transfer.

The Arts & Humanities requirement may alternatively be fulfilled by completing a World Language Sequence plus one of the following courses: SPCH-151, THET-101, THET-102, THET-103, THET-202, THET-241, or WMST-193. Students who complete a World Language Sequence are not required to complete General Education Core Electives.
