MUSC-210P Ear Training and Musicianship III
	This is the third of a four-semester sequence of ear training and musicianship courses required of all music majors. Along with MUSC-210A, Music Theory III, the course continues to focus on sharpening student skills in sight reading, sight singing, and taking dictations.

MUSC-111P with a grade of C or better

2 hours lab and additional practice time weekly
	
		Course Objectives
	
		- 1. Sight sing melodies which include chromatic alterations, secondary dominants, and a diversity
 of rhythm patterns in compound and simple meter.
- 2. Perform rhythms at sight which include syncopation in compound and simple meter, with
 divided and subdivided beat patterns.
- 3. Take dictation of four phrase melodies with leaps up to a 7th
 .
- 4. Take dictation of harmonic progressions which include any diatonic triad.
- 5. Take two-part dictation containing modulations to dominant key.
