NUR 110 Foundations Nursing Practice
This course describes professional identity in nursing, nursing practice, and hands-on bedside care, including safety protocols, communication, vital signs measurement, and other entry-level skills. By the end of the course, students will develop a personal, professional identity as a novice nursing student, and demonstrate basic skill competency in preparation of providing safe, person-centered bedside care. This course is required for all in-coming nursing students.
NUR 110 is a prerequisite for NUR 225 and all other subsequent NUR courses. It may be waived if students provide validation of a current unencumbered state nurse aide certification or completion of a comparable nursing assistant course. 59 didactic hours and 16 clinical hours.
