GER 123 Fairy Tales German Tradition
This course provides a historical, cultural and literary study of fairy tales through the lens of the best-known and most popular collection in the world, the Children’s and Household Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm; it also includes tales from the first appearance of written tales in Western Europe to the present day. Students will examine and discuss a wide variety of selected fairy tales and scholarly essays. This course counts toward the International Perspective (World Culture Option) and may meet the Arts Perspective. There are no prerequisites. NOTE: Taught in English.
