CHM 361 Thermochemistry
Prerequisite: CHM 311; MAT 225 (or concurrent enrollment); PHY 128 or PHY 222 (or concurrent enrollment in either); OR permission of instructor
An advanced study of classical thermodynamics and chemical kinetics. Topics include a detailed study of energy, entropy and enthalpy, multi-component phase diagrams, real gases, electrochemical systems, reaction kinetics, and transport processes. The fundamental goal is to achieve a physical description of general chemical phenomena with a strong emphasis on mathematical models. There will be three 70-minute lectures each week. 1 Course Credit
