WGS 201 Sexualty Everyday Life CFS,SOC

Prerequisite: GSTR 210 and one of the following: CFS 130, HLT 111, SOC 100, WGS 124

Students will learn about the development of sexual orientation and gender identity and familial and social influences of their expression throughout the life span. This survey course balances concepts and theories of sexual identity with first-person narrative accounts among members of sexual and gender minoritized communities. Topics covered include sexual and gender identity development, normativity, coming out, identity expression, ally-ship, familial influence, and ongoing human interest issues.
