HLT 300 HLT Program Planning & Eval
Pre-requisites: WELL 101 & 102; GSTR 110; HLT 200 or permission from instructor.
This course provides the background information and skills educators needed to assess needs, plan, implement, and evaluate health education and promotion programming in a variety of environments, including schools, hospitals, worksites, community and clinical settings. It explores the psychological, social, and physical implications of health education and promotion. The major emphasis of this course is to develop interventions based in theory and best practices that teach and promote health. Focus is on needs assessment, systematic planning, delivery, and assessment of programming, creative teaching, introduction to philosophy/history of health education, and applications of certain priority heath topics at the community and public health levels.
