NUR 450 Nurs Synthesis & Complex Care
Prerequisites: NUR 447 and NUR 448 with a grade of C or better
This capstone course focuses on three areas: managing care for patients with multiple complex health problems, transitioning to practice settings, and preparing for the NCLEX-RN. A total of 210 clinical hours are required and students work one-on-one with assigned registered nurse preceptors in a variety of acute care settings. This course provides students opportunities to discuss issues related to the transition from the student role to an entry level graduate nurse position functioning as a generalist. To pass this course, students must, by the end of the course, achieve select scores on standardized exams and complete an NCLEX-RN preparation course.
