OFFI 288 Legal Procedures for the Legal Administrative Professional
This course is an introduction to the legal administrative professional field. After successful completion of this course, students will be able to use basic legal administrative skills necessary to be successfully employed in a law office. It will include the role of the legal administrative professional in a law office, and will emphasize basic legal concepts in specific areas of law, the preparation of legal documents necessary to move cases through the courts, and the role of the legal administrative professional in litigation.

Course Objectives
- 1. Demonstrate knowledge of legal concepts and principles in specific areas of law needed to perform in the role of legal administrative professional.
- 2. Explain the duties and responsibilities of a legal administrative professional in a law office setting.
- 3. Construct legal documents, including Motions, Interrogatories, and Summonses.
- 4. Define terms commonly used in law practices.
- 5. Accurately transcribe dictation consisting of legal correspondence and documents.
