Classical Studies Minor
The minor in Classical Studies introduces students to the language, culture, literature, history, and legacy of ancient Greece and Rome.
Degree Requirements
The minor in Classical Studies requires a minimum of five (5) credits, as follows:
Required Core Course
LAT 102 Introduction to Latin II or GRK 202 Introduction to Greek II
Required Distribution Courses
Any four (4) of the following courses:
CLS 110/HHP 110 | Sport/Spect Greece/Rome (HHP) | 1 Course Credit |
CLS 117 | Classical Etymology | 1 Course Credit |
CLS 129 | Classical Roman Civ (HIS) | 1 Course Credit |

ARH 232 | Art of Ancient Greece & Rome | 1 Course Credit |
LAT 103 | Introduction to Latin III | 1 Course Credit |
PHI 305 | Classical Philosophy | 1 Course Credit |
Other Considerations in the Minor -- Students who minor in a Foreign Language also are eligible for study-abroad grants.
